Formula Sports is one of the oldest established darts distributors in the world!
Company Background
Phil Jackson began engineering and distributing darts to the sports trade in the UK nearly 35 years ago. Formula Sports UK became one of the biggest jobbing OEM manufacturers of tungsten darts in the world making for many of the major UK, European and American, stores, brands and distributors.
In the early 1980’s Formula UK started importing and distributing snooker cues and table accessories to sporting goods stores throughout Europe.
In 1990 Phil Jackson sold out his UK business and semi retired to The Gold Coast. At that stage he started Formula Sports Australia as a part-time interest just servicing a few local stores with darts in and around Queensland.
Word got around and Formula quickly grew to become the biggest importer of darts and dartboards in Australia – Australian Bureau Of Statistics figures indicate that Formula now imports more darts product than all of the other Australian dart importers combined!
Initially the company was mainly run as a hobby, Phil just dealt with the independent sports stores who he called on during frequent trips made going round Australia mixing business with pleasure. Through this Formula established a big customer base of sporting goods stores.
Now most retailers in Australia carry the range of Formula darts and cuesports.
The Future
We are a very long established company with all the benefits of having been around for many years. We are financially secure, have huge product knowledge with engineering expertise and have a deep understanding of the wants and needs of the darts and cuesports playing communities.
With connections and experience built up over a long time there is a vast knowledge bank being passed on to the management team.
Phil has always been almost paranoid in his obsession about giving the best quality product with exceptional service, and simply being the best. The longevity and ongoing success of Formula Sports is certainly testament to those policies working.
There are excellent systems in place throughout the company for everything; you just can’t beat experience! All these years specialising in darts and cuesports has taught us how to do every part of the job properly.
